EventApp helps a group organise a plan and decide on dates and destination. That takes very little data, and this page explains which data, why, and what you can do about it.
1. Who is responsible for your data
The data controller is Antynormalized.
For any question about your data, including exercising your rights, write to thehappeningchannel@gmail.com.
2. What data we process
If you create an account: your email, your first and last name and the language you choose. Optionally, your phone number and a photo.
If you join a plan without an account: the name you type and, if you want updates, your email.
What you do in a plan: whether you are coming, your votes and the options you propose.
Technical data to protect the service: the IP address and browser of your session, and the IP from which you request a sign-in link.
We do not ask for passwords, payment details, personal preferences or sensitive data.
3. Why we use it and on what legal basis
To provide the service you ask for: creating and managing plans, voting and signing in with your email. Legal basis: performance of the service you request (art. 6.1.b GDPR).
To send you service emails: the sign-in link, the confirmation when you join a plan, the notice when a decision opens and a reminder 24 hours before it closes. Same legal basis. Every email about a plan includes a link to stop receiving its updates.
To protect the service against abuse, by limiting attempts and logging access. Legal basis: our legitimate interest in security (art. 6.1.f GDPR).
Your phone number and photo are only stored if you add them, and you can remove them at any time from your profile. Legal basis: your consent (art. 6.1.a GDPR).
4. Who sees your data
People in a plan see your name, your photo if you uploaded one, and whether you are coming. They never see what you voted: only the result, once voting closes. If you propose an option, they see that you proposed it.
Nobody else sees your email, not even the person organising the plan. The same goes for your phone number, unless you tick the option in your profile to show it to the organiser of the plans you join: then that person can see it, and nobody else in the group. You can untick it at any time.
Our hosting and email provider, Hostinger, stores the database and sends emails on our behalf, as a data processor. The servers are located in España.
We do not sell or share your data, and we do not use advertising or third-party analytics.
5. How long we keep it
Your account and profile: until you delete your account.
Your data in a plan: while the plan exists, or until you delete it from the plan itself or delete your account. When you do, your votes are kept without anything that identifies you, so results the group has already seen do not change.
Sign-in links: they expire after 15 minutes and are deleted the next day, together with the IP they were requested from.
Sessions: they expire after 2 hours of inactivity. Staying signed in lasts 30 days.
6. Your rights
You can access, correct and delete your data, object to or restrict its processing, and ask for a copy in a portable format. Where you gave consent, you can withdraw it at any time.
In the app you can edit your profile, delete your data from each plan and delete your account. For any other right, write to thehappeningchannel@gmail.com. We reply within one month at most.
If you believe we are not handling your data properly, you can complain to the data protection authority of the EU country where you live.
7. Security
Connections are encrypted. We do not use passwords: you sign in with a single-use link that expires, and the database only stores a fingerprint of that link, never the link itself. Photos are stripped of their metadata, including location.
8. Children
EventApp is not intended for anyone under 16.
9. Changes to this policy
If we change it, we will update the date at the top. If the change is significant, we will email you beforehand.
